1- DOF Mass-Spring-Damper System
Introduction
In this tutorial, we are going to build a 1-dof mass-spring-damper system with LEGOs. The viscous friction between the cart and the ground is small.

Steps
Sensor Installation
To measure the oscillation of the cart, we can install a proximity sensor on the side of the platform. The orange one is the sensor mount.
We slide the sensor into the mount and fix it with two M1.8 x 5.5 screws.
Rubber Band Installation
To create the oscillation of the cart, we can install two rubber bands to the cart. First, open the top plate of the cart and place the rubber band as shown in the photo. Then, put the other side of the rubber band to the side of the platform.
